However, there are some things to remember when it comes to maintaining polyethylene furniture: Never place hot items, such as cooking dishes or candles, on poly furniture. Remember, it’s plastic. Fire and heat will melt it. Don’t forget to clean your furniture! You don’t need to do it every week, but plan to clean it several times a year to prevent minor stains from setting in. A good rule of thumb is to clean your furniture once each season — winter, spring, summer and fall. Avoid placing flowerpots or other items that could stain on poly furniture. .
You post came at the perfect time, Kelly. We just had a new patio installed and I am in need of a few Adirondack chairs to go around my new fire pit! I will certainly look into Polywood! recycled furniture love: polywood - the handmade homethe handmade home says:

The climate you live in will greatly determine which wood is right for you. Those who live in wet climates will need a durable wood that resists bug infestation and rough weather. Dry climates need wood that resists sun damage, cracking, and fading. A globalized economy provides more options than ever before. A few of the most common woods include the following.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away from this product as well as BEST CHOICE PRODUCTS in general. So disappointed. Wood is cracked. Holes don't line up. Warped. Purchased 4 chairs had to use two chairs for parts in order to make two right. Such poor quality. Now I have to somehow return the two boxes with defective wood parts that will never be used for anything while having concerns about the COVID 19 distancing. Wish I could submit photos. Worse company to do business with. Horrendous product.
Thank you again for putting a rush on our order. The chairs were great and just in time for our open house and garden tour. I’ve attached a picture as you had requested. Let me know if you would like any additional pictures.
Adirondack chairs are expensive not because of their manufacturing standards but also because of their high quality durable materials. Adirondack chairs will last for decades, while a similar model made with other manufacturers may fall under the weight of daily use.
The quality of the wood is just OK. I did have to sand spots down. I also applied a coat of poly as I'm not sure how it would hold up to the elements. 3.0 out of 5 stars I am officially a woodworker now. For the price if you have a little extra time it may be worth it to you. By GR on May 3, 2017 I am officially a woodworker now. Assembly took me around 2 hours at a relaxed pace. Where the screws go through they are pre-drilled. Where the screws are suppose to line up there is a little dimple. Which is sometimes hard to see. Also, I was worried about splitting the wood, so I pre-drilled some of these spots.
Hi, I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know how much we love our chairs. We had to wait on the landscapers to finish up some brick work and the fire pit before we could set them up. We are very impressed with the quality and craftmanship of them.

After settling on a design, he hired a local Westport Carpenter named Harry Bunnell to make a set of the chairs. Impressed by the design, Bunnell saw the commercial potential and began selling the chairs to Westport’s other visitors. Unfortunately, he… forgot… to ask Thomas Lee’s permission to sell the chairs. Bunnell filed for a patent on the design, and received one in 1905, despite not actually designing the chair. Bunnell sold the “Westport chairs”, made of Hemlock, for the next 20 years. Typically he would paint them green or brown, and he sold them directly to buyers.
The Trex Outdoor Furniture Cape Cod line of Folding Adirondack chairs is similar in design to the Polywood chairs above, though with a little bit sleepier and more classic design.
The Lifetime 60064 CPVC Adirondack chair is a best-seller on Amazon.com and is positioned at an aggressive price point. In fact, we chose it as the best budget CPVC chair in our overall Adirondack chair buyer’s guide. It has some excellent features given its price, but it has a few downsides as well.
