What an idyllic setting! I absolutely LOVE your Adirondack chairs. “If” I don’t win a set of my own I will probable buy them this summer. I’ve been wanting to build a built in fire pit in my yard with adirondacks around it.
The Adirondack chair (also called the Muskoka chair in Canada) was crafted of 11 flat wooden boards and had the classic straight-back seat and wide wooden armrests. This chair was originally designed by Thomas Lee while vacationing in Westport, New York — a small town in the Adirondack Mountains.

Concerns over deforestation may have you rethinking the traditional wood Adirondack chair. If you want the look of wood without the environmental impact, a high-quality polywood can be almost indistinguishable from natural wood. Polywood doesn’t require the maintenance of wood and can hold up in extreme weather conditions. Recycled plastic is another option that offers a colorful addition to your backyard.
If you’re set on getting metal furniture for your outdoor space, the lighter the color the better. Lighter colors reflect more heat than darker colors.
1) Earth Friendly – there’s the equivalent of 500 milk jugs in each one of my adirondack chairs!
O’K I want to be sitting there! I too have dreamed of set like that & having a croquet set near by helps finish the vision. To see the trees in bloom what a beautiful setting. A set of Adirondack Side Table/Chairs would look awesome in my new backyard next to the grill patio and screened in porch.
The Trex line of chairs are great, they are just like our top choice the Polywood chairs! However, the color palette is staid, and you are paying a bit of a premium for the Trex brand name. They have the same 20-year warranty that Polywood does.
A: Yes, your poly outdoor furniture is waterproof and stands up well to rain and snow. It’s not prone to mold or mildew, either, so you won’t have any of that unsightly black stuff building up on your beautiful furniture.
If you want to make an Adirondack chair, then you may be unsure whether it would be better to use resin or wood for your construction. This is not a simple decision, as what you use to create your Adirondack chair can affect its appearance, and will also affect how well the chair turns out, depending upon your abilities. Making these kinds of chairs is not easy, whatever material you make them from, so you may be more influenced by other considerations, such as appearance, cost, and skill level requirements.
3. When assembling the seat slats, I used a tape measure to space them 3/4" apart.
There are definitely both positives and negatives to any material so don’t hesitate to do as much research as you can.

Cost-effectiveness - Poly outdoor furniture may seem expensive, initially, but when customers realize the years of service and wear they will get for the price, it becomes clear that choosing poly outdoor furniture is the smart choice for the patio, sunroom or deck.
1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away from this product as well as BEST CHOICE PRODUCTS in general. So disappointed. Wood is cracked. Holes don't line up. Warped. Purchased 4 chairs had to use two chairs for parts in order to make two right. Such poor quality. Now I have to somehow return the two boxes with defective wood parts that will never be used for anything while having concerns about the COVID 19 distancing. Wish I could submit photos. Worse company to do business with. Horrendous product.
